Preacher Jerry's Last Sunday

Rev. Jerry Phillips closed out his ministry at Hickory Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, September 28, 2008.  He preached his last sermons as pastor at the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services and again at 6:00 pm which included a baptismal service.

The church held a surprise luncheon after the morning services.  The luncheon was held at Kingston Elementary School.

Rev. Jerry Phillips informed the church on Sunday, July 13 of his intention to retire effective Sunday, September 28, 2008.  Preacher Jerry came "home" to Hickory Grove in August of 1997 after serving three churches in North Carolina.  Hickory Grove Baptist Church licensed him to preach in 1977 and later ordained him into the ministry in the 1979.
